I just bought a new dvd burner and im having trouble putting media files on it.

Im using roxio 7 dvd bulider to make my own dvd's not copies my own with megadeth videos and concerts on.

Anyway in roxio dvd builder you can drag and drop your files in, at the bottom of the screen is a icon that fills up as you drop in files telling you when the disk is full.

Well for some damn odd reason small files are taking up way to much space on the disk, it's a 4.gig disk and i tried to drag and drop a 1.4 gig media file on it and it fills it up saying it way over, like 6,gigs worth when thee file is only 1 gig.


Every medai files is taking up way to much space!


Any ideas anyone please!!

Simple enough, actually. If you keep the files in avi or mpeg format and only want to watch them on your computer, then you can make it as a data disk and the size of the files remains constant.

BUT... making a playable DVD for the rest of the world involves changing the files... Roxio automatically does this for you, but yes, it converts them into bigger files. You can't fit more than two hours on a single-layer DVD when making a movie DVD. But as a data disc, you can fit eight-ten hours, easy.
